Dry Stone Dyke Restoration near Glamis

A farmer near Glamis had over fifty metres of collapsed dry stone dyke along a field boundary. The dyke was over a hundred years old and several sections had given way after years of frost and root damage.

We rebuilt the collapsed sections using the original stone, supplemented with locally matched material where needed. No mortar - just skill and good stone selection. The through-stones and coping were replaced properly, and the finished dyke is stock-proof and solid.

The work was carried out over three weeks, working around the farmer's schedule to avoid disrupting livestock. The restored sections now blend with the original, and the boundary is secure for another century.
