Stone Extension in Auchterhouse

The owners of a traditional stone cottage in Auchterhouse wanted a single-storey kitchen extension that looked like it had always been part of the house. The existing stonework was random rubble with local sandstone, so matching was important.

We sourced sandstone from a nearby quarry and built the extension walls to match the original coursing pattern and stone size. The coping stones and window surrounds were cut to match the existing details. The junction between old and new was carefully bonded so there's no visible join line.

Three weeks of stonework, coordinated around the builder's programme. The extension now looks like it's been there as long as the rest of the house - which is exactly the point.
