Steading Conversion near Forfar

This 19th-century steading near Forfar was being converted into a family home. The original stone walls were in reasonable condition but needed attention - repointing, repair of damaged sections, and careful cutting of new openings for windows and doors.

We repointed the entire exterior in lime mortar, replaced damaged stones with matched material, and cut four new window openings with proper stone lintels. Inside, we exposed and cleaned the original stone walls and built a feature fireplace in the living area.

The conversion took the best part of a year, and our stonework was phased across the build. The finished result keeps the character of the original building while making it a comfortable modern home.
